Licensed Home Child Care Parent Information
Our Licensed Home Child Care program takes pride in offering a community based, family centred program to parents and children ages 6 weeks – 12 years. Whether parents are looking for care in their neighbourhood or enroute to school or work the Children’s Village work’s in partnership with parents to offer and secure the best child care arrangement with approved home child care providers affiliated with our agency. The care is monitored on an ongoing bases with unscheduled visits by Agency Child Care Advisors. Care is offered with providers from across the city in Wards 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15,16, 17, 20, 22 and 23. Subsidies are available through the City of Ottawa.
Helping you Choose Your Provider
All Providers with the Children’s Village are carefully screened, approved and monitored by the agencies highly qualified Child Care Advisors. Providers that are affiliated with the agency must meet the requirements of the Child Care Early Years Act. Providers have access to support and training from the agency in the areas of child development and the Province of Ontario’s Early Learning Framework, and also in safety, child guidance, nutrition, menu planning, activities ongoing training in First Aid/CPR , and access to city wide workshops and seminars. Providers must provide the agency with a Criminal Reference Check, up to date Immunization, First Aid/CPR and references.
Securing a Child Care Arrangement – “A Partnership”
The agency Child Care Advisor meets with parents before securing an agency provider to help make the best match possible for their child care arrangement. The child care arrangement between parent, provider and agency Child Care Advisor becomes a partnership working to offer the best day care arrangement for your child/children. Once care has commenced the Child Care Advisor monitors the child care arrangement and the development of each child in the home and provides support and resources to both parents and providers.
